Le Prieuré La Madelène

A charming guest house at the foot of Mont Ventoux

A former 12th-century Benedictine priory nestled in Malaucène at the foot of Mont Ventoux, just a few minutes from Vaison La Romaine, Le Prieuré La Madelène is a charming guest house with an intimate atmosphere for your seminars, wellness courses, stays with friends or family, time alone or romantic getaways.

An ideal place to unwind

The enticing intimacy of Le Prieuré La Madelène, with its stone vaults and traditional Provençal beams, invites you to relax and let go.

This picturesque 12th– century Benedictine building full of history – which was the once property of the writer Marie Cardinal – is nestled amidst orchards resplendent with cherry, apricot and olive trees, as well as grapevines.

Hidden from view behind two stone pines, Le Prieuré awaits to be discovered. With its courtyard, its plane tree and fountain, you are unquestionably in the heart of Provence.

La Madelène has five bedrooms, a separate cottage, a meeting room, a swimming pool and several terraces.

Attentive hosts

Charmed by the surroundings and eager to share their love of the place, Bruno and Olivier have given their new home a discreet, personal touch, including some paintings and objects they are fond of.

Designed with you in mind, everything – from the terraces and nooks in the shade of the trellises, to the swimming pool and solarium, to the tasteful, refined decoration of the guest rooms with private bathroom – will make you feel right at home.

A warm welcome, helpful service, high standards and discreet hosts make Le Prieuré La Madalène a haven of peace and tranquility. Bruno and Olivier, who extol the virtues of getting away from it all and taking time for oneself, fell in love with this unique place and decided that the time had come…

A new life, together

Partners in a short-term rental company in Lyon, Bruno – the manager – and Olivier – a flight crew member – wished to continue their life together in a region that they discovered and fell in love with thanks to their shared passion, motorcycling.

Their unwavering determination to change their way of life and their backgrounds in the hospitality and travel industries has fueled their desire to host, inform and assist guests who stop at their home.

A complementary couple of hosts

An avid reader, Olivier, moved by the aura of Marie Cardinal, can recommend some works from his library to guests wishing to settle down with a book. A passionate explorer, he can also guide bikers curious to discover the most beautiful routes in the region.

With his sense of organization and flair for human relations, Bruno will ensure everyone’s comfort throughout the stay, managing the logistical, touristic and cultural dimensions via Le Prieuré’s network of partners.

The luxury of time

Driven by the same desire to change and to run a company on a human scale, both wish to provide their guests an unforgettable experience: one where time stands still, where peace and quiet allows them to rest, to spend time talking and sharing with others.
